D**N IT, JOHN.

This space is about another space and the ways in which we create space for that space in our memories. The house on Forest Lane, for me, was about unconditional, unrelenting, unapologetic care. Most times, that care took the form of food. And sweet tea. How can pull-apart twizzlers and cinnamon graham crackers communicate vulnerability? What solace do we take in rituals like Festive Sherbet Punch and Mile High Okra Salads? This is a collective exploration of the ways in which we learned to connect through cooking, baking, licking bowls, sharing, eating, and trips to Jewel. This is a project of memories, of tastes, of smells and sounds, of recipes if you have them, of the excuses we gave ourselves to spend time together on Forest Lane.
